The first summer fair in decades took place on Saturday the 14th July and it felt like the whole of Partington came out to celebrate in the sunshine. It was a fantastic afternoon and enjoyed by people of all ages. Mums, dads, grandmas, grandads, current pupils, ex-pupils, current pupils and community supporters turned up in droves to enjoy all that was on offer.
Everyone enjoyed the wide range of activities on offer from raffles and tombolas to funfair rides and penalty shoot outs. The food was delicious and the bar was well stocked as people came together to talk about Partington, young people and our schools.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who played even the smallest part in getting this celebratory event back up and running. A special thanks goes to the staff , parents and governors of Broadoak School, Forest Gate Academy and Partington Central Academy for their planning and foresight. We also thank the Mayor of Trafford for opening up the event and Kate Green MP for supporting with the prizegiving.
Let’s hope this is the first of many summer fairs.
From June 1st the Partington Hub at PCA will be moving. The provision for pupils of key workers will continue at Broadoak School and the timings of the day will remain the same 8:45 – 3:00pm. When pupils arrive they will be directed to a new temporary entrance.
This arrangement is only for those pupils currently attending at PCA and parents of children in Year 10 will receive further details about plans to return to school from June 15th imminently.
