Operation Christmas Child

Miss Garner would like to say a massive thank you to all pupils and parents/carers for their kind donations to Operation Christmas Child. On Tuesday and Wednesday after school, pupils and staff gave up their time to wrap the boxes and fill them with gifts.  We have also included a Christmas card from the school.   In total we have filled 85 shoe boxes.  Along with the gifts, Operation Christmas Child also asks for donations of £3 to cover the cost of transporting each box to its final destination.  We needed over £250 and the staff at Broadoak have very kindly covered this cost with their generous donations.  A special mention and thank you goes to the Deering Family for donating five crates of gifts and the Melhuish-Jones family who filled five shoe boxes at home and donated them to the cause.  This whole project has once again shown the community spirit which exists at Broadoak and the Partington community.  Mr & Mrs McConaghie will be taking all the boxes to their church this weekend where they will be collected by the Operation Christmas Child organisation to be sent on to less fortunate children around the globe.  Thank you.
