Ofsted success for Broadoak School

Home / News / Ofsted success for Broadoak School

I am delighted to enclose the full report from Ofsted following the inspection which took place on 9th January 2019.

I write to you regularly about how proud I am of this entire school community. I had every confidence that our external visitors would see first-hand how the standard of education provided at Broadoak maintains its quality and excellence.

Headlines from the report include:

  • The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection.
  • Pupils, parents and carers and staff have confidence in the school’s leadership, including governance, at all levels.
  • Teachers and leaders have raised expectations of what pupils can and should achieve.
  • Staff have worked tenaciously to involve parents more in the life of the school.
  • More academically demanding programmes of work across all subjects now give the most able pupils better opportunities to reach their full potential.
  • Very high expectations of pupils’ attitudes and behaviour are apparent in every classroom and in all areas of the school.
  • Pupils are courteous and respectful towards adults and each other. They wear their uniform and achievement badges with pride.

On behalf of all of the staff at Broadoak, we appreciate the total parental and pupil support, as evidenced by the completed Ofsted surveys, which asserted unanimously that you would recommend Broadoak to other local families.

Thank you for continuing to entrust us with your children and for your invaluable partnership.

Yours sincerely,

Mr L McConaghie

Headteacher
